Zendaya x Tommy Hilfiger drops a New Collection during PFW
On March 2nd in the middle of Paris Fashion Week, Zendaya refused to take her heel off our necks.
The actress teased her new collection a week before it debuted on the runway on Twitter, which of course had us all at the edge of our seats.
The collection gave us the fun and colorful patterns of the 70s while also maintaining Zendaya's It Girl aesthetic. She is constantly ahead of the curve and with her collection, she is taking us all along with her.
PFW SS19, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées
Drip or Drown seemed to have been the motto for the runway when Zendaya gets a hold of it. Not only was her own star shining brightly, but she made room for others both for the greats and the new icons. Esteemed Image Architect Law Roach styled the collection, world-famous Makeup Artist Pat McGrath was behind the scenes working magic only she can wield, and, for the grand finale, Grace Jones herself closed the show dancing to her own song "Pull Up to the Bumper." Zendaya also made sure that her collections celebrated all shades of blackness. Models of every shade strutted up and down the runway donning afros, dark, brown, and albino skin, and, of course, black girl magic. The evening was perfectly groovy.

While I was creating my Add to Cart wish list I thought about how wearable I need my clothes to be. I run all over New York City for work, school, and internships. This city is one where looks do matter because it shows off your personality. You need to be larger than life in this town, but that largeness means it means nothing if you can't translate it into a language that is completely yours. I want to look fun and youthful while still demanding I be taken seriously. And above all, I cannot look boring.
It was easy to check all my boxes with this collection. The Wide Leg Stripe Trousers and the Wide Leg Check Trousers create a silhouette mainstream fashion hasn’t accepted in decades, allowing young women to play with shapes we haven't had the opportunity to enjoy until now and add our own modern twist. These pants are practical with a fun flare that allows the outfit to be both fitted and professional.
The Zendaya Lurex Tank Dress is liquid gold. It drapes across the body like a dream. I would love to wear this dress to a high-profile event but it can also be casual enough to see go see the newest exhibit at the Met with my lover.
Lastly, the bright red Zendaya Strappy Mules have my heart and refuses to give it back. Its seemingly simple enough to pair with any outfit, but the silky satin straps demand it be the focal point of the fit. With some skill, it can be paired with louder outfits the way it was styled with the Zendya Satin Shirt and Blazer, but I personally will be showing them off for months before I hide them under wide legged anything.
