Eggie Spring Drop

Coachella, spooky vibes, 60s Desert Fashion, oh my! Jenn Im and her team have taken influences from 60s fashion, the American desert, and the tone of a spooky murder mystery (probably Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn since she’s been binging the series for the last couple of months) and created a fresh take on festival attire.

The Festival Tab

What is usually fun, free, and (sometimes problematically) wild has been taken on with a new twist. The 60’s bad housewife vibe allows for a subtle nod to the feminist movements that helped push women to fight for the freedoms we have today. The bored looks of the models (@soothingsista, @sofiachang, @weylie, @ellenvlora, and @flamcis) are not just bored, but bored of you. You are not up to their standards. In the promotional video they all look to the sun and sky insinuating that these women are looking for a brighter future. And while there is still work to be done, they will have fun with a pillow fight here and a rented Air BnB there. It’s weird, and I didn’t get it at first, but I like it.

The Sustainable Tab

As temperatures rise and climate change becomes more prominent, the demand for sustainability has become more of a necessity. Jenn Im has created a new tab on her website devoted entirely to sustainably sourced clothing. Four items from Eggie’s Spring line are made with Lyocell fabric.

“TENCEL™ Lyocell and Modal fibers help to maintain the environmental balance by being integrated into nature´s cycle. The fibers originate from the renewable raw material wood, created by photosynthesis. The certified biobased fibers are manufactured using an environmentally responsible production process. The fibers are certified as compostable and biodegradable, and thus can fully revert back to nature (TENCEL™ in nature’s cycle, Tencel*).”

Lycoll is a wonderful fabric that allows consumers to experience luxury clothing without risking the ground we walk on. I am proud of Jenn Im and her team for taking responsibility and improving her brand for the better. I hope to see other brands follow her lead and take climate change seriously.

The Gender Neutral Tab

This is not a new tab but it is one that deserves recognition. Three items from the new drop have been added to the already well stocked section. The gender neutral tag is inclusive of all genders allowing everyone to shop in peace. The sections includes suits, jackets, tee shirts, and more that can be dressed up and down to your hearts content.
